Telefunken E88CC Röhre Electron Tube Original Made in Germany ULM Diamond bottom
All of my Telefunken E88CC tubes are:
- 100% Original TELEFUNKEN (I get this question ALL the time: yes, this is no fake, and no rebrand)
- Made by TELEFUNKEN
- Made in Western Germany
- Produced in the 60ies or 70ies
- Have a diamond on the bottom
- Have gold plated Pins
- Are made in the city of Ulm (U-Code on the rear side)
- Are either pulled from working medical or industrial equipment (if marked as USED), or from professional surplus tube stocks (if marked as NOS - new old stock)
- My tubes have never ever seen any HiFi Audio gear.
- They are fully tested with ROETEST and then selected and matched by hand, to be honest with lots of love.
- Are 100% compatible with ECC88, 6DJ8, 6922
At Koschuh you can select from many different options, depending on your wealth and needs:
USED = Your tube is like new. There is no difference between a NOS tube with 100% and a used tube with 100%. It was pulled-out from surplus vintage equipment, like scientific measuring devices, broadcast equipment, medical equipment, electronic calculators, industrial circuits, or commercial radio transmission equipment. Your tube has never seen an Audio or hifi equipment before. It has never experienced tube rolling (something that I cannot accept to be done with my tubes). I have pulled them out all by myself. The source is authentic. They are carefully cleaned without wiping of the chalk-writing. Your tube was tested by myself on a ROETEST tube tester. It has 100% or more anode current, and comes with a test protocol print-out. There is nothing wrong with buying used tubes, as long as they show 100% or more emission current. Do not buy untested tubes, or tubes without test protocol.
USED (Balanced) = Same as with "Used". This tube was also pulled out of surplus electronic equipment from the 60ies of 70ies. But after testing it was found to have very balanced systems. See, the E88C consists of two triodes. Sometimes, in really rare cases, these two triodes have nearly the same anode current emission (in % and mA). This is important for symmetrical audio circuits. If one half of the sine wave is amplified by one triode, and the other half of the sine wave is amplified by the other triode (of the same valve), you need the same amplification. Else you will have non-linear distortion. Balanced systems do not matter for standard audio circuits. Do not buy Balanced tubes if it's not necessary, but order them if you are not sure.
NOS = This tube is new old stock AND comes with a box AND was tested to have more than 100% emission (Note: not all tubes out of a sealed Box have 100% - hence I test each tube). This tube has never been used before.
NOS (BALANCED) = This tube is new old stock AND comes with a box AND was tested to have more than 100% emission (Note: not all tubes out of a sealed Box have 100% - hence I test each tube) AND has balanced triodes. This tube has never been used before.
USED (Matched pair): You will receive 2 used E88CC that have nearly the same technical data. They can be from same production date, but can also be from different batches. All that counts is the measuring data.
NOS (Matched pair): You will receive 2 new E88CC that have nearly the same technical data. They can be from same production date, but can also be from different batches. All that counts is the measuring data.
USED (less than 100%) = The cheap solution, that fits alsmost any application. In most cases you don't need full anode current. A tube with 90% will do aswell. The clarity and sound of your tube amplifier doesn't depend on the anode current capabilities only. You don't need strong tubes, if they only run at 10% of their maximum current capabilities (like in many phono equalizer amps or pre-pre-stages). I would always buy USED tubes with less than 100% emission, as it's the cheapest and best method to enjoy the real Telefunken sound. You will get a used tube, or a NOS tube with less than 100%. All tubes sold under this marking have atleast 85%. There is no choice possible. If you order two or more tubes, I will try to combine / match them together, but this is absolutely not guaranteed.
